Jazz in the Olympics Festival 2009 Venues Please check the schedule for who plays where and when JAZZ CENTRAL This is the largest venue. It is "jazz central". Redemption of early sale badge vouchers site sales take place here. Vern Burton will seat about 400. The sound is great and the dance floor is wood and large. There is a large theatre seating area for the listeners plus there are tables in the rear. The Glass Slipper, dance shoes and apparel plus Jan Scobey Hot Jazz is located here. The Sunday gospel is presented here. The Red Lion Hotel (Front & Lincoln) The venue is on the second floor of the North building. The acoustics are very good here. The room will hold about 225 listeners in theatre seating. It has a small dance floor. An "Afterglow Function" will be held here on Sunday evening featuring a set dinner and the music of Independence Hall, Wolverine and West End jazz bands. The price for that will be $35 inclusive at the door; reservations call 1-360-457-0424 Eagles Club (110 Penn Street) This venue is the dancers favorite. There is a huge good dance floor for dancers. But, the venue is great for listening. The venue will hold about 350. The venue hosts the Sunday Gospel event. Food and beverage prices are very reasonable. Some dry RV parking available. Elks Lodge (First & Lincoln) The Elks Lodge has been remodeled. This has been a very popular venue with a big dance floor and very fair food and beverage prices. The venue seats about 250. Saturday your favorite Traditional Jazz Bands will be playing "swing" sets all day. For a map of the venues click here |
