Jazz in the Olympics Volunteer Form

APRIL 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. These are the dates we need you. They are the dates for Jazz In The Olympics 2011.  The three sites we are using will be: The Eagles Lodge, the City Council Chambers, the Red Lion Hotel and the Vern Burton Center. To ensure a successful experience for local and visiting Jazzers, we depend on our VOLUNTEERS. The tasks to be filled are:

BADGE SALES-These people are in charge of maintaining a cash box, selling badges, and to greet and dispense information about our festival and our community.

ROVERS-These people "tidy up" between sets, serve beverages to the band members while they are performing, work closely with the Site Manager. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age TO SERVE BEVERAGES FROM THE BAR TO THE BANDS.

DOOR PERSONS-These people check for appropriate badges, monitor to assure no alcohol is either taken from or brought into the venue, report any problems to the Site Manager. To serve as a door person, you may have to stand some of the shift.

HOSPITALITY ROOM- These people will assist in the Band Hospitality room with food preparation and presentation under the guidance of the Director.  The hospitality room is primarily for band members, their wives/companions, and children and members of the sound crew.  This position is only at the Vern Burton.

Anyone interested in volunteering, please complete this form, indicate the task or tasks you would be interested in, the number of hours you are able to commit, and ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE, SUCH AS NOT BEING ABLE TO STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME OR NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK AT NIGHT. Also, if you need to work the same shift as a friend or spouse, please let us know when you fill out this form.

In order to receive an all event badge we ask that you work a minimum of 6 hours (which can be in periods of two 3 hour shifts, plus or minus, at the coordinators discretion), and commit to attend a training session prior to the festival. YOU CAN VOLUNTEER FOR LESS THAN 6 HOURS, BUT YOU WILL NOT EARN A BADGE. Many times we need someone for short intervals. Volunteers will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis and if we fill up we will put you on a waiting list.
